It’s moving day! Literally watching my kids play in boxes and run a muck around our new place as we speak. I’ve put everything away that came with me today in my load, so I’m not being lazy I promise 😜 Also, these boys are having the time of their lives right now.. why is moving so fun for littles but is a pain for us adults.
If you have been following me for a while you know that we travel with my husband for his work while he goes through an apprenticeship all while living in a renovated fifth wheel trailer. A little wild I know! I normally update my blog readers about when we move and where we are going, but this time it’s a little different. We not only are moving towns, but we ditched the trailer. I CAN NOT BELIEVE WE ACTUALLY DID THIS. It has been almost three full years since living full time in our fifth wheel. ( we may be back in it but for now we are out)
If you are wondering how I did it, well I am still wondering the same thing, but it’s so we can all be together while my husband works hard for our family to get his dream job. He has about 8 months(give or take) until we officially will no longer be traveling, so technically we are still traveling right now. I keep reminding myself it will all be worth it in the end.
So for the past month my husband(Cody) has been working away from where we were living. He was only able to come home and have Sundays with us because he was working so much. I was exhausted. Cody was exhausted. The kids missed there dad, and I missed dad too of course. We were spending an outrageous amount of money on hotels.. like ridiculous amount. We could not find a spot for our trailer in the area, so it was just kind of how we had to do things. At one point we decided to look at places to rent, so I booked a few showings on some short term apartments, and on that day decided I just couldn’t pull the trigger. Cody was up for anything, but really had not much time to make decisions… and I do not like making decisions. I was SO nervous. We can be moved at any time to any place in CA or NV. Two days after looking I called Cody and said, “ go put the deposit down it’s still available, let’s do this!” We need a space near him together or else everyone was going to go crazy. The risk of moving was far worst than the quality time we would be missing out on. The same day he put the deposit down, went and saw it himself, and started driving to where we had our trailer parked two hours from where he was. I started loading everything up in our trailer, called my in laws who came to help us, and about in four hours we were on the road to go store our trailer at my in laws. Now here we are moving in!
The boys have no idea what to do with so much space.. it’s the little things for sure. We are so grateful, and excited even if this adventure is temporary. We could be here for 3 months, and we could be here until we are done traveling. And if you are wondering where we are by now, we are living in the San Jose area. If you know of anything that we should do while we are living here comment below!
