FRESH FACE

Hey guys! I wanted to share with you my favorite make up finds lately that I’ve been loving. If you are anything like me then you are always looking for new make up must haves, so spring is the perfect time to refresh your look. Not only are you deep cleaning the house, de cluttering, and putting away those hefty coats you can also refresh your life in different ways. I just LOVE that spring makes me feel that way! It’s so rejuvenating, so I always want to get rid of the old and onto the new. Although I am all about a simple dewy makeup look, I don’t get to complicated with contouring and eyeshadows, I still love makeup! I’ve linked below my three spring must haves to get a fresh face.

MAKEUP FOREVER HD FOUNDATION – Foundation is always a super hard one for me, and I recently switched to this and could not be happier. Sephora actually will let you sample makeup so I took samples home and tried them and WINNER WINNER! The perfect amount of coverage, and dewiness.

NARS RADIANT CREAMY CONCEALER Oh my goodness… if there is anything I swear by in the makeup world it is this! Being a mom I am all about a good concealer to cover up those dark circles. It works magic, and trust me I have tried a lot of concealers until I ended up with this little angel.

BECCA SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTOR Being someone who loves a dewy finish a highlighter is pretty important. I love how it brightens your face, and looks very natural. This highlighter is awesome and comes in a lot of different shades for all skin tones.

I am still always looking for new finds, so if you have any reccommendations on your favorite new treasures or an old find you love, comment below! Happy Friday!

Moms are not allowed to get sick!

After what seemed like forever my household is officially well and over the horrible sickness that hit. And I mean it hit hard!! Who knew that being sick could challenge you in so many ways. I mean come on..Moms aren’t allowed to be sick. Being a mom I always want to be there for my little one, and unfortunately I was so sick I did not have the energy to do that. I’d like to say it was a break, but when you’re sick you would much rather be changing all of the dirty diapers, doing piles of laundry, and dealing with those glorious fits Dekker likes to throw occasionally. I also did not want to get him sick, so not being able to snuggle my little guy for days felt like forever. Never will I take our health and snuggles for granted. Luckily the three of us were able to enjoy our weekend back at home sick free. Check out this adorable sweatshirt I wore this weekend .. and the message is even better! Raise good humans 🙂

Hardworking Hubby

Most nights Cody comes home and tells me about his work day, which i do love, but when he tells me he has been 200 feet plus in the air it gives me a little anxiety. haha. I think one day he will learn to maybe just keep the height out of the conversation. For all the people that like to see what he does.. this one is for you! A day in the life of my hard working hubby who is an apprentice lineman. One and only reason why I named my blog: The Line Bride. Feel free to comment below for questions!

Living on the road

For any guys reading this who have not had children you may not know what certain things are that I am about to talk about, just so you know 🙂 But lets be honest I doubt my husband would even know. Anyways, so there are definitely fun things about living on the road that I really enjoy, but also there are a lot of not so fun things. Living in an area where you know absolutely know one, besides the guys my husband works with ( no, none of them have wives), means Dekker gets to go with me EVERYWHERE I go. Which I do really love that I get the opportunity to take him with me everywhere and stay home with him, but there are times when one year olds would be better to not join you. haha. Today I took the challenge of bringing him to my doctors appointment with me this morning, and oh boy that was fun! Not just any doctors appointment, but a gynecologist appointment. While we were waiting my chatty one year old was engaging with all the patients, trying to steal starbucks from people, running laps in the room, and not sitting still for one second…not like I thought he could ever sit still, but we waited for over an hour! Ahh! For over an hour I was on the edge of a break down, but we finally got into an examination room. The best part was my one year old little boy wanting to play with the stirrups. haha! Yeah right then I thought.. you know screw the birth control, lets go home. But I got it and now am happily going to put my feet up and watch the bachelor. Happy  Tuesday to you all.

Leaving your kid for the first time

When it comes to being a mom I would say I am very easy going. I am not overbearing, but at times I can be a worry bug. I think all moms can be at some point. After I had Dekker I was still working as an esthetician in a small salon which meant leaving Dekker with other people that I trusted. Leaving him with other people such as my mom and mother in law was EASY. I never feared for a second that he would not be well taken care of. Thanks to them for raising my husband and I; I never questioned there ability to take care of my own. It was not until today that I left Dekker with a stranger. Being a stay at home mom is a blessing, but of course I need my own time too which made me get to the part where I recently got a gym membership.( I know what you are thinking.. yes typical New Years resolution.. No shame here) Today was my first time taking Dekker with me and letting him stay at the children’s activity center while I got ” mommy time”.  Now what you must know is Dekker has such an outgoing personality that of course he went straight to the lady at the activity center. Things were looking great, until I suddenly got into the gym and decided that I was going to pick the machine right next to the glass wall where I could see him. I knew this probably was not the best choice, but I was feeling like that overbearing mom for the first time. It was strange and I had never felt this way before. There was a few times where I wanted to just go get him when I saw him standing by the gate or maybe it was those nachos they were eating in the lobby that were calling my name, either way I pushed through my work out until I was done. Everything went just fine, and sometimes you just got to push yourself. For all you overbearing moms.. I feel you! Next time I will not be working out where I can see him or those scrumptious cheese nachos.

Enjoy your weekends!

Holiday Fun!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetWe officially survived the holidays!! Happy 2016! We took on the holidays in our home town where we mostly spent our days in the snow, or cuddled by a cozy fire. After three lovely weeks of vacation we made it back to our home. Call me crazy but I was excited to be back in our 32 feet of living. Less chasing Dekker around large houses, smaller messes to pick up, and of course having this little munch sleep in his own bed again. The adjusting back to our routine is still in the process, but we are happy to be back. Hope you all enjoyed the holidays as much as we did.

Dekker Drew

image

On November 14,2014 at 4:29 pm we were blessed with our sweet Dekker Drew. And this past Saturday was his 1st birthday. I still can not get over the fact that I now have a one year old. It was a year ago that  we anxiously waited for your arrival. I remember this day like it were yesterday. As I went into the hospital on November 13th I was definitely scared for how my life was about to change. I got induced that morning, and nothing was happening. I walked the halls a millions times, and Cody was being Cody doing wheelies in the hospital chairs( I did not approve). There was one moment where we literally had almost 10 people in that tiny room playing cards against humanity. Haha! Finally as things progressed after they broke my water I remember telling my mom that I was ready to go home now. Well sorry Blake there is no turning back now, as I was in full blown labor. They gave me some medicine and I was feeling like a million bucks. Seemed like minutes later after only three pushes that I was holding my little boy. Like a crazy person I said, “I could do this all day”. (My pregnancy was not this easy. I was sick 8 out 9 of the months. Preggo pops were my best friends.) I will forever remember this day, as this little boy has made our hearts SO full. We now have a crazy little boy. Climbs on everything he sees, waves at every stranger, and wants to help mom out with everything.  I look forward to my morning snuggles, and our afternoon adventures together.

Our First Move

blog moveThis family of three has had a lot of things going on. Two weeks ago Cody got “laid off” from his job in Los Angeles, so we waited around for a call to find out where we were headed next. We got a call the following Tuesday that we would be making a not so big move to Lancaster, CA. Only an hour away from where we were.. not going to lie I was kind of bummed that we weren’t going to be closer to our home town, but the day will come. Right?!? They gave Cody almost a week off to get things together so that he could start his new job on Monday (two days ago), so instead of getting things together we took a road trip. We drove up to our home town, Grass Valley, CA. It was a  much needed quick trip for all of us! Fresh air! We could finally breath again. 🙂 Cody got to see his buddies, and Dekker got to spend some time with his Mimi. On Sunday, Cody’s aunt and uncle helped us move our trailer… lets just say the day was exhausting! Our trailer tire blew… and that was just the beginning. We are now all settled in here in Lancaster. It may not be my favorite place(already), but I am thankful Cody is liking his job and there is a lot less traffic. YAY!
