Nordstrom Anniversary Sale try on!

I braved the Nordstrom Anniversary sale today. Things are flying off the shelfs and I tried on what I could. I didn’t even make it to try on any shoes, but I am sitting here going through the ones I did check out. There are lots of good items on sale right now, and I will be sharing a lot more. Here is some of my favorite in store items. The first photo is a pj set that was my best seller at the sale last year.. they are SO good and come in long sleeve and pants as well. ENJOY shopping!

My top seller last year at the sale and they are 100% worth every penny. They come in 3 colors.

Road trip with toddlers!

Traveling with toddlers can be a little intimidating. Some people veer away from traveling, because obviously it is a lot of work when you have toddlers or babies with you. We are about to take a 10 and a half hour road trip with both our boys.(2&4) Call us crazy but I can not wait. We have done a lot of roadtrip with our oldest and he has always been pretty great in the car, but now that he is older the “are we there yet?!” happens when we drive 20 minutes. haha. Our 2 year old doesn’t do as well as our 4 year old used to, so I was a little worried so I am going in over prepared. I thought I would share things that have helped us, and items I bought specifically for this trip.

SNACKS- When you think you brought enough snacks.. bring more! Bring their favorite snack and drinks to keep them full so they are never saying they want to stop and get food. Snacks are lifesavers!

LEAVE DURING NAPS- I know this isn’t always possible, but leaving right at naps makes things so much easier. Most road trips we have been on they have slept more than have the trip, or the whole trip if your trip isn’t so long. This goes for flights too.. if you can plan a flight to be when your child is suppose to nap makes flying that much easier.

COMFY CLOTHES- Seems like common sense, but let your kiddos be cozy on the trip.

STOPPING- Okay my husband wishes we never did this but it helps SO much every time. We always stop and when we do we let the boys out to walk around or grab food. I know it makes it more difficult to get the kids out on a stop, but it will pay off. We always just let them walk and grab food in one stop.

TOYS- Every trip we have gone on I always go to target and grab a couple small toys that are new, and a new no mess coloring pad. These are both perfect for the car and plane. Bringing a new toy they have never seen keeps them entertained and excited. I also let them pick a few things they love from home and bring in a backpack.

ELECTRONICS- Electronics are definitely a last resort for us, but I feel like if this helps you get through the drive do it. Our oldest has watched our phone on road trips and it has saved us. This will be our first trip both the boys will have a iPad with them. Also, we always download a movie onto the iPad before a trip so that they can watch it in no service zones or on the air plane.

WHAT WE PACKED FOR THE ROAD!

ELECTRONICS-

Each boy is bringing an iPad and I got these kids cases that are awesome. They also are each bringing these headphones… they fit both my boys and come in other colors as well.

COLORING-

We love the color wows and the mess free coloring pads that are both mess free. We use these even at home, but they are perfect for on the go! We also have these magnetic little books that are awesome as well.

MISC.-

Are favorite water bottles that we always have on hand. We used this since Dekker was little, and love them. I am so excited to put this carseat play tray to use! This is so perfect for the car because they can actually play on it, set their iPad on it, and even put food on it. I got the one with the car tracks, but there are so many options.

TOYS-

A couple toys we are bringing are some toy cars I let them pick out at target, but they aren’t allowed to play with them yet. I also packed a little “surprise” bag toy that they will get when I feel like it is necessary. I am packing our magnetic tiles, because these are our most used toys and they will be perfect with their carseat tray. I also am letting them pick a few things from home that I know will actually be played with in the car.

Easy homemade Valentines

Hey guys! Next week is Valentines day so I wanted to share what we made for Dekker’s class. The boys had SO much fun making these and even my husband got involved in the process. Also, if you just want a fun valentines craft to do these are it.

STEP ONE: Soak crayons in warm water for 10 minutes. This makes it easy to peel the wrapper off each crayon. Then unwrap each crayon you want to use. ( we used three boxes, but only used colors we wanted)

STEP TWO: (Preheat oven to 220 degrees) Let your kids go wild and break the crayons into small pieces and place in heart mold. Make sure you fill them up to the top because they will melt. Let your little ones be creative with this part.

STEP THREE: Put mold on cookie tray, and bake for 10-15 minutes. My boys loved watching this process of the crayons melt and mix together.

STEP FOUR: Pull crayons out to cool and you are DONE!

We put them in mini treat bags for Dekker’s class, and made little tags( linked below). Such a fun and easy DIY Valentines that doesn’t include all the holiday candy. On your cards you can write anything you want, but a favorite is: Have a colorful day, or color your heart out!!

XOXO

Many to go!

Over a year of marriage has passed and I think I really want to keep him. haha. But really I feel this overwhelming feeling of love everyday, and it is so special. Not saying marriage is perfect, but I love that marriage gives you the opportunity to grow as a couple. After we got married we really got to start our lives together as a whole. It became important realizing that even though we saw each other every day those little things matter. Those simple acts of love that we both need and differ in. Take this day to really make your significant other feel special, because they deserve it!!

We did a fun shoot when we were in our home town with Lydia Photography, in Grass Valley, CA, at my in-laws property. I love that getting your picture taken allows you to really connect, and then you get these beautiful natural images out of them. We did this right after our one year anniversary at the same location we got married at, so it made it extra special for the two of us.

Baby Registry & Wish List!

Here we go peeps! When I was pregnant with my first I remember feeling very overwhelmed by all the baby product out there. You are wondering.. what is going to be best for my family and our lifestyle? Is this gadget really even necessary? Or why the heck is baby stuff so expensive? Also there are a lot of stuff out that just is not very cute in my opinion. haha. So because I know so many women expecting right now, including my bun in the oven, I thought I would share some of my favorites at The Baby Cubby. If you haven’t heard of the The Baby Cubby you need to check it out!

Perks of  The Baby Cubby: There are a lot of stores out there, but not every store is going to engage with their customers like the baby cubby does through social media and via their blog: The cubby community blog( located on their website). Go check it out! Their team is made up of moms who have been there, and dealt with what us moms are going through. Let me tell you.. we all need some help, encouragement, and a little reassurance every once in a while that we aren’t the only ones going through a tough time of motherhood. They make it their goal to find the safest gear out there and even test it themselves! So you know you’re shopping confidently with them. I think the number one thing they offer is PRICE MATCHING!! Price matching is so important, because now you know you are getting a great deal. Now enjoy some of my wish lists and some favorites from The Baby Cubby. Every product is linked if you just hover over the name of product! Enjoy..especially if you love baby stuff as much as I do.

Maxi Cosi Infant Car Seat

Your carseat is going to be that first thing your new little baby really uses on that trip HOME from the hospital. YAY! Such a special moment, and I love this simple black seat by maxi cosi. Plus it looks so cozy! I would recommend to every one to invest in an infant carseat over a convertible, because you are able to easily transfer your sleeping baby.

black_and_birch_pathway_packPetunia Pickle Pathway Pack  Your diaper bag is your life for the next two years guys! I really like this one by Petunia Pickle for the simplicity, along with the fact it can be a backpack! Having two kids can get crazy, so a backpack is so perfect!

4Moms MamaRoo I had this with my first and LOVED it. It doesn’t take a lot of room up, and a huge help when mom is trying to get ready!

towel_-_ff Little Unicorn Hooded Towel and Wash Cloth

baby_jogger_city_select_double_-_black  Baby Jogger City Select with second seat A stroller is a huge investment, but also something you will use a lot. I use my single stroller almost everyday, and it really makes life a lot easier. This stroller can actually be used with only one seat as well, which makes is really nice that is so convertible. Serious life saver!

green_5oz_single_3 Comotomo Natural Feel Baby Bottle  A lot of babies have a hard     time adjusting to a bottle, so I thought I would share this bottle that I hear so many good things about. This bottle is going to ease your transition from breastfeeding to bottle, but remember not every bottle works for everyone!

growing_garden_belly_detail Lucy Darling Growing Garden Belly Stickers

owlet4  Owlet Baby Vitals Monitor I think this is SO cool. This is a monitor that is going to tell you when your babies heart rate or oxygen level drops below normal. I think moms are always worried about their babies, so this is just something that would ease your mind when your baby is in the other room sleeping.

1285_1 ErgoBaby 360 Deluxe Another life saver guys! I had this for my little Dekker, and it made it so easy to clean the house and get things done. You can also put it in your car and transfer a sleeping baby, or use it if you like to hike or go on walks.

fp_-_weathered_brown_2_ Freshly Picked Moccasins My all time favorite baby shoes! My son has extremely wide feet. haha. So I have a tough time finding him shoes that are easy to put on him, and these are my jam! Can not wait to buy my little boys matching moccasins!

ink_stripe_backing Little Unicorn Cotton Quilt Little Unicorn has the CUTEST things! I am obsessed with this little quilt by them mainly because it is so hard to find simple baby quilts that are breathable. More from Little Unicorn below!

DockATot Deluxe Dock Baby Lounger & Sleep Positioner This has been something I have had my eye on for a while, and I see more people using them daily! Ideal for someone who travels a lot or even has a crazy toddler running around. It is perfect for your baby to sleep, play, tummy time, or even for diaper changes. It is portable and pretty much perfect. haha.

grey_stipe_sweatpants Lulu and Roo Dark Heathered Grey Stripped Terry Sweats Last but definitely not least are these adorable sweats from Lulu and Roo. A huge plus for me: They come in a ton of sizes so I can make my boys match! Yes I am going to be that mom for as long as I can.

Hope you all enjoyed everything.. brought to you by The Baby Cubby ! Don’t forget to check out their community blog on their website! Feel free to ask questions or advice!

New trailer | New town

We have officially and successfully remodeled our fifth wheel trailer. I have promised that I would share these exciting pictures and I wish I had before pictures, but I can not find them anywhere so you are going to have to let your mind wander. Imagine brown, brown, brown, and some more brown. Not saying brown is a bad color, but when you live in a trailer and all you see is brown wall paper and brown carpet you may go crazy! haha. Because we are expecting another little one we decided to get after this remodel and I am so happy we did. Everything you see that is white ( all cabinets, trim, etc.) used to be a brown darker wood. We tore out a booth table, couch, and all carpet to enjoy our own personal touches. New couch and table was a huge space saver! yay! It took us a little over a week to be absolutely done, but we worked from the time we woke up to the time we decided we should go to bed. If anyone has questions on how we did some things feel free to leave a comment 🙂

Now to the good stuff that we waited WAY to long for. When I say long I mean we waited over a month until my husband was put back on a job. We were on permanent vacation for over a month which was kind of nice especially since I am sick as a dog being pregnant, but to be living in our new trailer is REALLY nice. We traveled 11 hours ( including a blow out tire), and made it to our new town we will call home.. Long Beach, CA. We are very happy with the location, and love that there is a lot to do around this area. If any one has some favorite eats or things to do in Long Beach please share! Enjoy!
